Sunday Reflection By Ananya Chatterjee

Lost and Found

Wooed by a sudden dust storm my umbrella quit on me, leaving me alone with showers that came to drown a forgotten city. The city could have been my heart fallen off the map of an absent-minded earth. The city could have been my soul, every road stark blind, every window a hungry black hole. The summer rains made us meet. We drowned in sync and as we did I found in me, in rain scented bliss, the same parasol floating upturned in a sleeping metropolis.
