MORNING DEW

It's been snowing all night and day

All around, layers of fresh snow…

Young ones dream of Santa on sleigh

Amber lights in homes are aglow.

All the children tucked in their bed(s)

Their dreams filled with goodies and gifts.

The seeds dormant; leaves have been shed!

Icy-cold nights till season shifts

Spring will arrive with fragrant spread!

In that frosty silence, my thought

raced to frontline heroes at work

How many battles to be fought?

The Covid continues to lurk!!

Old year will extend into New

Not a day's leave; no way they can shirk...

Let their hearts shine as Morning Dew

When Spring ushers with hopes anew.
