MIND IS NOT A VESSEL TO BE FILLED BUT A FIRE TO BE KINDLED!

Human mind is strange, quaint and human nature is curious which often overpowers the sense of prudence. The human mind is controlled by the continuous flow of emotions which at times becomes stronger than our sense of logic. Our mental make up is always prone to the external stimuli and obviously we react, no matter whether it is soft or harsh!
Mind, the wonderful gift of God is engrossed with the thoughts flowing from the flow quarters of the earth steadily. There is not a single, solitary moment where mind doesn’t get perturbed by the external thoughts. The thoughts which are frequently ugly and make each and every sinew of our body stirred with excitement or anxiety. Consider the daily pattern of work, right from the morn till late night, struggle continuous unabatedly, there is neither respite nor repose nor any grain of inspiration one can hope from another. For a poor mortal, his mind is the biggest asset to him.He cannot merely opt for anything on his way to fulfil his dreams or wishes unless backed by the spout of instincts. And when these instincts come to the fore to work with profundity, mind is either strengthened or weakened. A simple success energises his soul and a mere defeat drains him off the whole flood of energy. Under such circumstances he has nothing to prove, nothing to act upon. Mind rules the roost here in every possible way. Besides, if we consider the domain of literature and mythology, ample examples are cited, where mind has been filled up with surging emotions like the rolling waves of the blue black sea that lash against the shore, breaking into innumerable droplets and anew make a retreat! This is a typical trait of mind and one cannot shy away from it in quite convenient terms! On the other hand, mind has another countenance, but it seldom appears before our sunken eyes. It is its urge to enkindle itself in the face of obstacles, injustice or anything odd. Unfortunately we let the mind grow furious, protest with a loud and clear voice against anything unfair but the ‘process’ conducted is not fair. It leads to our ruination, it leads to the destruction of our morale and we are not left with a logical bent of think, to ponder or for that matter to rediscover ourselves! Moreover, in today’s modern scenario we are not blessed by Lord Krishna who will take care of our rage and never let the flame of our mind extinguished at any cost. But that does not mean we have to sit with crossed fingers and await endlessly for the divine intervention. No,never! It is per functionary to always keep our heart and soul warm. We must not cast a cold stare at whatever we behold! A cold stare breeds a sense of oblivion to everything, listlessness to everything. A mind deserves to be enkindled to brave the ways of life, to sacrifice when the time ripens to the utmost. But the question that lurks at the corner of our heart is that we need every individual run the track of life, keep the flame upright and ensure the tide on our side. The whole game depends upon an individual’s strength with which he/she is born in this world. But at times a weak mind, after receiving the breeze of inspiration wakes up to light up the flame which is steady with a touch of aplomb! A look at the past reveals us how the flame of mind enkindled paved the way of success or victory. Consider the case of Robert Bruce whose repeated defeats finally ensured his victory. The reason was obvious. The flame of mind never went down, rather its strength became more severe with the spirit of spider. The oppression displayed by Ashoka at the battle of Kalinga revealed how the mind put on the wrong track was blessed with the cold flame of steadiness after Lord Buddha came in his life. A focus on the British rule in India showed how the minds of innumerable patriots were enkindled that finally led to the emergence of independence in India.
According to the eminent religious leader Swami Vivekananda, every soul is potentially divine. Religion was imprinted on his soul. Despite abject distress, he never took a back seat. Under the spiritual guidance of Thakur Ramakrishna, the flame of his mind was enkindled and enabled him to win the world! He proved him and now it is our turn the enkindle the candle of our mind, of our soul. We need to comprehend meticulously the importance of human life. At this very hour of strife torn of world where peril is imminent, we ought to stand erect and confident to tide over the danger coming on our ways. It is true that it is preety difficult to keep our soul intact with the same composure and steadiness as it always tends to split into halves! There is always someone or the other to discourage us, to put off the fire in us. So at each and every moment, we must sum up the powers embedded in us in addition to the positive thought that under no circumstances we shall bow down, compromise with our self esteem! It is only to be borne in mind that the grace of God is ever pouring and his spiritual shower will not droop the spirit of a burning taper. Any explanation?
