Sunday Verses By Neha Borah

Scary tale

“They all have their own share
they used to shun.”

While scrutinizing every fairy tale
and the eyes of care,
they seemed to be illusive and unfair.
Want to know what I heard of?
I don’t think you would want to,
It makes me quiver every time I try to.
It starts from lower abdomen twinges
and bottles of pill.
It proceeds with blood gliding over the linen
and clenching of teeth until it bleeds.
Are those bruises on the skin or skin on the bruises?
I try hard to reckon.
It ends with loathing their own body thereafter
and screeching when no one is there to see.

Foreward –
Today I invited her with her story
hidden in the basket of concealment.
She ushered her ally
and her ally brought a few many.
The crowd grew,
grew and captured my tiny room.
Seems like this isn’t a story of one
They all have their own share
they used to shun.
