THE BURNING SOUL

The darkness descended,
Wrapped up the ambience of laughter and fun,
A quest was made,
A chaos followed,
A match stick was discovered under the carpet,
Lit!
Opacity bade au revoir,
The vibrant glow showed the faces-
of rejoice, of relief, of grin, of comfort, of smile!

You melted,
like the molten sun of the evening,
That touched the western horizon of the sky!
Fragments dripped like the water drops,
reducing the strength of your soul:
Yet-
The flame did not flicker,
The balance was sustained,
Of the bewildering criss cross,
Of moving shadows and lights!

The saga of sacrifice continued,
Little later,
You melted into nothingness!
The foundation remained.
The wick became the thing of yester moment!
Darkness mocked at you,
Proclaimed its supremacy,
Stated solemnly:”I reside under you”,
The journey ended,
burnt the existence,
broken the illusions,
befooled the poor mortals!!
