Sunday Poetry By Twinkle Johar

It’s been long since I’ve known what letting go means

Is it not tough to be nice and strong at the same time?
“Why did you do this to me?” (deletes text)
“Am I important to you?” (backspace)
Scrolls the entire contact list to find someone who could let the loneliness fade away. Gets guilt tripped for asking for help.
They ask to speak up
but about what?
the broken fence that asks me to move out
or the hard kitchen slab that provokes me
to hit myself up till I’m not given opinions as to where I belong.
Will I be listened to if I speak on?
how I wish to end everything
forever
and how tired I’m of being tired
Can I speak on how badly I want you to hold me?
without making me yours
and let me sob loudly without trying to choke myself at the bed only at night
without disturbing anyone, I promise.
What will you do if I ask you, I want to speak up?
because it’s been long since I have known what letting go means.
What will you do?
Oh, maybe you will kiss my dry lips and will lock it all up.
