Moods, Moments আর প্রেম – বিন্দু By Sangeeta Sharma

1. You
You
A churning ocean,
Turmoil inside,
Quiet outside.
A deep reservoir of repertoire
A spring of signifiers
Who can conjure inexistent worlds
With the wave of your mighty pen
Evolve intricate metaphors
Create portmanteaus of sorts,
Sketch exclusive images
Compare dissimilarities
You
Spin creative worlds
Those delight others
And
Dream of a just,
Equitable world,
Where everybody lived well!
You,
My poet,
My inspiration,
Make mundane things look beautiful,
In most ugliness.
Still care for the same brutal world.
2. At Times Square
A nippy spring morning
At the Times Square
Is surrealistic
Overwhelms a visitor by
Its resplendence.
The global tourist attraction
The epicenter of Theatre, Broadway
Ticket scalpers wooing buyers
To sell off their last-minute inventory
Street Performers
Disguised as Statue of Liberty
And Spider-man, Elmo and Mini-Mouse;
A naked cowboy holding a guitar
Are sights enchanting.
Post-dusk scene is panoramic:
The jazzy, dazzling neon lights:
The Jumbotrons and Spectaculars
Light up
Paramount, the iconic building
And the Visitors’ Centre
Disney Stores and MTV station
Shoppers in chic ensembles
Times Square, the Shoppers’ Paradise
Spill with New York keepsakes, badges
Souvenirs and designer popcorns.
Reverberation below your feet
Of the chugging Metro
The exhausting fumes from the Subways
Mix with the fog
Create a romantic ambience
And chill you further!
