Poems – Sayan Ganguly Parial

WAITING

Waiting…
Melting hours running with maddening sigh,
Leaving behind a frowzy frame
With fugitive eyes and impatient words.
Then the lone wolf with its dry eyes
Lurks to the clattering footsteps outside.
Too unknown to hear, still,
The stillness of blood wants to hear, to run!
Waiting…
Idle flow of earth has disguised the tide.
But those eyes don’t stop digging
The sands of time in a forbidden land,
Just for a drop of life
The desert keeps the heart alive,
With all its burn it keeps digging…
