“MIND AND BOOK”

Books – the best friend and being so, a part and parcel of human life to enjoyably survive.

Where there is a lock there is a key. Absence of either one is a problem creating phase. Together, they mean a sense. Singly, they are nonsense. The bonding strength of their attachment is as strong as the attachment between a mother and baby. The dependency of lock over key and vice versa is as needfully cooperative as tongue and teeth. Hence, there is no question of distrust on the reliance either of their own. They are made for each other because without cooperation of each other, their existence is void. Activation is a prime purpose of their existence and they rely on each other for their activation. If due importance is not given to the lock and key, there would be an unsafe feeling that we are to pass through, concerning our belongings, which we need in day-to-day life for our survival.
Similarly, where there is a life there is a lifesaver. An healthy heart is a lifesaver because heart plays vital role in running the life. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart. So, we need to keep the heart healthy. To have a healthy heart, of all the powerful ingredients act in a network, mind plays a prime role. The mind contains complex of elements that feels, perceives, thinks, wills and especially reasons and hence, it should be kept open broadly so that strategic balancing on life’s sailboat is maintained while the life floats on that sailboat. The best strategy is that we need lot of books to read because not only edibles but also reading books supply food to keep the mind open, which, in turn, help developing a healthy heart. A book opens our mind like a key opens the lock. Books strengthen us as nothing else can. There are numerous ways that books influence our lives – they give us insight into how other people live, they broaden our worldview, they influence our thoughts on politics and social issues, they show us how to be better people and above all, they help us not to feel alone. Books are our best friends because they inspire us to do great things in life and overcome our failures. We learn a lot from good books just like a good friend. Books are the best companions for all of us as it gives us knowledge and peace. Book reading increases creativity, sometimes sparking other ideas in life. Moreover, reading is one of the greatest acts of civilization because it takes the free raw material of the mind. An American author, Garrison Keillor said, “A book is a gift you can open again and again.” In context of book and mind, Alvin Toffler, an American Writer said that a library is a hospital for the mind. Further, literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. That’s why, we have Doctors, Engineers, Economists, Religious Scholars, Judges, Educationalist, Humanitarian and many more who are the products of book reading. They are backbone of life and hence, we need to light up the darkness of mind to become a backbone of life. Books are the only sword to light up the darkness of mind.
Above all, a developed society can not be possible without having a developed mind and only books can give birth of a developed mind. So, it should be our imperative duty to consider mind and book as analogous to the lock and key to enjoy the life while sailing the sailboat filled with bittersweet happenings in all spheres of life.
