FREEDOM

Why am I imprisoned in the cage?
What was the crime I sheltered for?
What was the sin I committed?
I know, misdeeds are parents of curse.
This breeds anguish and agony in nerves.
So, I crave to dwell in a sacred world.
Is it my crime?
Is it my sin?
O Lord!
Do you listen to my heart’s wail?
“Freedom is my birth right, I deserve it.”

Tiny physique decked with emerald feather,
Thin wings to fly as free as air,
Hooked reddish beak,
Alluring ribbon round the neck
And harmonious voice to mimic – All these lures made me beautiful.
But, I never take pride to make me fool.
Is my iconic beauty a mark of crime?
O Lord!
Be merciful to my heart’s wail.
“Freedom is my birth right, I deserve it.”

O my beloved Nymph!
Why are you weeping?
Why are you so sad?
Why are you scared?
Are you being tortured?
Yes, O my dearly Ally!
I’m also confined.
Trust me, I committed no crime.
No sin I have in my heart.
I too crave to dwell in a sacred world.
But, I’m imprisoned as a toy of nymphet.
Hey wicked man!
Why did you make me so upset?
Unable to sustain slavish mindset.
Alas! None is there to set me free.
O Man!
Be merciful to my heart’s cry.
“Freedom is my birth right, I deserve it.”

O my friend!
Be quiet; don’t worry.
I perceive your misery.
With my euphony, I would pray.
Don’t be scary; God is there to set you free.
Let’s unite and have the God’s potency.
Let’s vow to dethrone the ascendency.
We’ll transcend the slavery someday.
We’ll celebrate morning of liberty as heyday.
“Freedom is our birth right, we deserve it”.
We’d achieve it.
We’d preserve it.
