Sunday Poem By Debarati Sen

Winter’s Anecdote.

It was a winter night.
Pervaded with inertia.
A million stars spread like a corsage
on the bosom of the arcane sky.
The moonlight on the riverbank
Traversed me to a world of alchemy.
I went astray in the shimmering water.
The silence of the mountains echoed a wondrous tale.
Beckoning the wanderlust within me.
That had long lost itself amidst the mire of the city’s dissonance.
Far away the bells tied to the yaks mellowed in rhapsody.
Its dulcet tunes calmed my oddball mind
That had been perturbed for a while
Looking for peace in forlorn corners.
My inner mayhem was put to rest
By the solemnity of the bewitching night.
It was an indolent winter night.
My hands were gelid
But my heart permeated with nature’s warmth.
Resonating the horizon’s ethereal anecdote.
