Sunday Reflection By Basudev Paul

A Boy on Dream in a Boat
The tiny tot’s aspiring zeal taught me a lesson
Shatter’d in shanties, he shaded in
On the county boat on the still water pond
A lad but with a book on his lap, sunk
What an indomitable fly high took him here!
The creator perhaps gave him sixth sense
Foresighť’d the barriers snowed in
He is the babble of the brook, spark
A time travelling fugitive
He appears to be invisible today, assum’d
Just microscope his grit and integrity
Broke and broken, he refuged in
Only a small hope of morrow goaded him to study
He realised he could shine forth if given scope
A chance to grow was his single aim
The senile serenity permeated the fen
He inspired his own flint to be stirrd
For even a sun takes some time to rise!
