“ Love him and let him love you . Do you think anything else under heaven really matters ? “ – James Baldwin
As the world celebrates “ Pride Month “ , there is joy , happiness , excitement and relief in and around us . The month of June is auspicious for the LGBTQIA + community because gay people fought for their rights at Stonewall Inn , New York City in 1969 . This was the most important incident listed under ‘gay liberation movement ‘ . In order to commemorate this historical event , every member of the community raise rainbow flags , walk in the parade , cry out slogans of victory and give speeches in the crowd . But due to the corona virus pandemic , not everybody could do so . Most of them have posted snap shots , videos and testimonials on social media sites .
I believe that it is important for the Indian society to accept and honour LGBTQIA+ people . Many a times , we assert that ‘we should spread love ‘ . Keeping this view on mind , love can be spread without a gender inequality and barrier . If a man loves another man , then his choice must be respected . On the contrary , if a woman prefers another woman , then this shouldn’t be a problem . What is more essential is to understand , adore and show compassion to one another .
Love just happens . It’s an automatic feeling and an emotion . Despite of knowing a person’s sexual orientation and still wanting to be with him or her , is the true meaning of the word “love” . Love is love . Love wins at the end .
