Sunday Poem By Sanjeevani Biswas

10:44

There lies another reality
Another set of sunrise and sunset
Another set of oceans carrying winds that will blow your mind
You can see it in my eyes
Move in there
You will be safe
And sound
And everything you desire to be
You will be at home
Where violins play themselves on a rainy afternoon
As you lie on bed
Wet
Curtains draping your body
The body of a goddess
Worshipped by the shadow staring at you, while you look in the mirror
Where you will earn your mistakes
And devour in them
With no consequences
Where the phone call recordings of you and your father
Will be played at dawn
The train will whistle twice
Once while leaving
And while returning
That’s how you will measure time
Count the days
And the nights
While you remain wrapped up in your lover’s embrace
While you remain young
And hope that you never wake up
On days you feel exhausted
The ocean will invite you
To regain your sanctity
Your sanity
The sand and the forest will crown you in your half torn linens
With the thorns of baby cactuses
Would you still crave misery?
A world where winter has no meaning
A world graced with the scorching heat of the sun
Your sun
And every other day
You will dream of your childhood
Of days spent staring at blank canvases
Covering yourself with water colour and dark chocolates
Days of uncertainty
Nights more delicious than sour candies or vanilla ice creams
A life more simpler
A life forgotten
Like old crumpled letters you once found in your father’s diaries
From his vintage lover
And time would stop
Forever
