Come and Dare to Stop Me

Why have I loved you when my
Soul knew you never belonged to
Me? Why have I trusted you and
Bruised my heart with your words
Like shrapnel? Why have you come
To me like an angel descended from
Heaven? Why have you made false
Promises and stolen my soul? Why
Have you gifted the best moments
Of my life and then smashed everything
Into pieces? Why have you taught me to
Fly high then clipped my wings to fall?
Why have you come to me like first rain
After scorching summer days? Why have
You appeared to me like a chivalrous
Knight but wished to devour me as your
Prey? Why have you sung me to sleep
And plotted to slay me anyway? I was
A fool, I believed your fake world. Now
I am free, I am me, come and dare to stop me.
