Vibrant Verses By Sangeeta Sharma

Is Death ever a choice?

The forlorn shrivelled taupe leaf sways down to the ground
Indicating the metamorphosis that life has fated
Far-off, the bell tolls and reminds
The passing away of yet another life
The soul taken where silence reigns…
Each gets its turn as age advances
The body that’s born fresh, blossomed and flowered
Desiccates, diseased and fades
Like a broken-winged bird, it flutters and falters
To rise again- clings and glues to life
Writhing and wrestling with pain
Soon lifted into the arms of death
Though never by choice!
