The sweetest feelings of rejection… in ART !

If we go by the sporadic usage of the proverb ‘Sweet are the uses of adversity’, we shall understand that there is a profound meaning embedded in it. Rejection and acceptance are of course both sides of the coin of life, but when it comes to creativity, of course, rejection has its own sweet taste. With every line, every sentence, every word comes a major phase of catharsis, with every idea that is incorporated within the boundaries of social, ethical, moral, critical, creative dilemma, there comes a new ray of hope emanating from rejection. It is not a phase which closes or engulfs everything, but rather, it is a phase that generates a new, diversified way of originating from the ashpit, from the highest state of dejection.
Rejection of manuscripts, words floating in almost a mindboggling stance, having a seismic effect on the entire writing rhythm of an individual, all call for a steady support for the self. If we scrutinize what could have been better, what is it that needs to be edited, how can the creative piece be smoothened, polished and cherished a little, then we shall understand that rejection is also a fine projection of how we are dealing with the self.
Being an editor is almost synonymous to some juggling activities, but I should surely say it is not magical! There is labour, there is reading, there is a multidimensional approach to different modes of understanding art, literature and creativity. So what calls for is a study in rejection itself. It is not about fomenting the rigorousness related to hatred of any kind. Loving art, living in art is an elevated, supremely sublime experience altogether. Hence, like acceptance, rejection should also be see in a creative space, illumined in an amenable way and tinged as part of life.
