Devilish passion, lust’s tale
On the sun kissed beaches of Phuket
When for the first time our eyes met
And I became yours before words could be said
A tanned smile, whipped my day
A twinkle, a glint laced my drink
A madness chased me riding the waves!
You were with a girl, holding her by the waist
I was with my man, I clutched his hands!
Why did you look so deep at me?
N looked n looked, the earth shook
Mountains roared, gods danced
Birds sang, the ocean washed our feets!
Or did it sweep us away? Wild wind rustled
In the coconut trees, the fish leapt up
For its biggest bite! Golden and red
The dragon spewed fire! Komodo
Wasn’t far away! Snorkelers dived
My stomach churned! A rosy knot began to unravel
In my chest, Petal by petal
It opened and opened till there
Was nothing to hide, a flame lapped
Quivered in broad sunshine!
Changed was the lobby
Food transformed, Music altered
The world was floating, life an illusion
Till god knows how, you brushed a touch
And whispered, ‘follow me’
Enslaved, I obeyed!
Oh! The lift! The rush, the gush!
The throbbing in my neck ! and your sweet perfume!
Was it musk or dusk outside?
Why do hotels have such corners dark?
Was it sin to so embark
On passion’s call, pleasure’s delight
Thought remained and drown did I!
Marked for life, purity snatched
Pangs of guilt but why just me?
When you are free, and so is he?
My hubby, my love, hopping
Between strip club’s dove !
Didn’t think you would be so casual
Or life itself! Do they call it
A one night stand? Whatever it was
That we had? N now, when once in a while
When you call, a tornado churns
Yet, will I ever go out with you again?
