Sunday Poem By Madhu Sriwastav

Love in Poetry
The Sunflower looks expectantly towards the sun
Where does the sun look?
Does it look back at her?
Or merely shines in its glory
Spreading its golden shine
Elated to have the whole of creation at its feet
In love when a lover is left longing
As the sunflower longs for the sun
It becomes need based
An Unequal uneven plane
When did logic accomplice?
one loses balance and falls in love!
as the trunk matures
It does stoop but breaks beyond a bending point…
Love in later years comes filtered with experiences
Longing finds voice in verse
Dignity becomes prime
Love meets in poetry
And finds satiety
When lovers are distant
and trapped in one’s concerns
To make efforts to meet.
