After much speculation
they decided to combine their powers
against the deadliest of demon
Mahisasur the defiant
Brahma Vishnu Mahesh
Alias Creator Executor and Destroyer
Separately couldn’t touch the asura’s hair
So, combine their powers to create a creation
an epitome of cosmic energy and grace
beauty power and energy ascribed
She took to task the asura at ease
beheaded him and made him fall
at her feet in defeat
But Mahisasur too put up a tough fight
gave up his life but fought full on
didn’t coerce or illusion make
that was the devas lot
Asuras fought straight bat
to plan scheme, consider and act
was beyond their grasp
Durga served her purpose thus
and remains divine with five paired arms
setting another benchmark for women in life
Be empowered draw energy from within
no one to hand over their resources at will
yet you perform like a Durga in life
not to kill a demon in fight
but to be accepted by all,
