Sunday Poem By Anjali De Nandi, Mom

February

In my village,
There was a very big tank.
There on the water
Floated so many white lotuses.
And on it’s bank,
There was many coconut trees.
Then my age –
It was eleven years.
Under too bright sun rays,
We all dears,
Took bath on it’s water.
That was a Vasant Panchmi day.
We all students picked up 116 lotuses.
Offered to the lotus-feet,
Who was Goddess of wisdom-knowledge.
And prayed,
“Hey, Hey, Hey!
You holy MOM!
In my brain, kindly, you take seat!”
